This “socialization period” is when they learn what’s safe, what’s fun, and how to handle the world. Positive experiences now build confidence, prevent fear, and create a dog who’s friendly, resilient, and well‑adjusted.
Why Socialization Matters
Puppy socialization needs to encompass much more than just meeting other dogs. Puppies need to see and experience new people, dogs, noises, objects and movement, surfaces, and handling; all in a positive and confidence building context.
Puppies who are safely exposed to new things grow into dogs who are:
• More confident and calm
• Comfortable with people, dogs, and new places
• Easier to handle, groom, and take to the vet
• Less likely to develop fear or behavior issues later
What Puppies Should Experience
We focus on exposure that’s safe, positive, and at your puppy’s pace, including:
• New people, different outfits, and mobility devices
• Friendly dogs and age‑appropriate playmates
• Sounds like vacuums, traffic, odd noises
• Surfaces (metal, ramps, balance boards, uneven surfaces, moving surfaces)
• Moving objects (tarps, skateboards)
• Gentle handling in preparation for grooming and vet visits
How We Help You Socialize Your Puppy
Puppy Group Classes
Fun, supportive classes that teaches owners the essentials.
You’ll learn how to:
• Safely expose your puppy to new sights, sounds, and experiences
• Read body language and build confidence
• Teach manners like sit, come, leash skills
• Handle common puppy challenges (nipping, potty training, chewing)
A great starting point for families who want guidance and confidence.
Puppy 101 (6 Week Program)
A truly well-rounded socialization class. Our experienced trainers lead you through safe and supportive ways to exposure your puppy to new sites, sounds, and experiences, socialization with other puppies and puppy friendly adult dogs, get you and your puppy started on good manners training, and help you tackle common puppy behavior challenges. Best for puppies 10 weeks to 5 months of age or older puppies that need building confidence.
Puppy 202: AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class (8 Week Program)
This AKC certified puppy class continues developing socialization, manners training, and addressing puppy challenges started in the puppy 101 program (missed the 101 program? No worries, this class is still for you)! During the final class you and your puppy will get to test for the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy title, this class provides a good lead-in to earning the AKC Canine Good Citizen title. Best for puppies 5+ months of age.
Puppy Kindergarten Daycare Program
Structured enrichment for growing pups!
Our specialized puppy daycare offers:
• Guided, supervised play with puppies + friendly adult dogs
• One-on-one attention and confidence-building activities
• Support with routines, settling, and potty‑training reinforcement
• Foundational manners woven into the day
• Toys, puzzles, and enrichment for mental development
• Regular progress updates
